This month, we are featuring Laerdal, our newest co-working and storage customer as our 1sqft story. We spoke to Azad Suan, Channel Manager ASEAN to get to know more about the Company and what they do.
What does Laerdal do?
Interestingly as we read up on the Company, Laerdal was established as a children’s book publishing and toy company. Laerdal’s pioneering work in soft plastics would go and later be used to produce the first manikin used for resuscitation training, changing the entire course of the Company.
Laerdal started in Malaysia in 2001 under the name Laerdal Hospiline and changed to Laerdal Malaysia in 2008. The business is mainly focused on healthcare education and medical devices. “It is a very niche field of work and the team is very dedicated to our mission of Helping Save Lives through the advancement of resuscitation, patient care, and global health initiatives. Laerdal products and programs are used by voluntary organizations, educational institutions, hospitals, the military around the world” Azad explained.
He continued, “we believe in our mission- helping save lives and our goal- helping save 1 million lives every year by 2030 and our vision – No one should die or be disabled unnecessarily during birth or from sudden illness, trauma, or medical errors and therefore training and proper utilization of medical devices are very crucial to realizing this mission.

Azad explained to us that working in the medical industry, especially in a post-pandemic era has had an impact on how they do, what they do. “In our business, we have seen an increased amount of virtual sales call instead of our face-to-face sales meeting by more than 40% during the pandemic.
