Are you a collector? 1. Coca-Cola Cans

Davide Andreani from Italy has been collecting Coca-Cola cans since he was 15. He has a collection of special editions and commemorative Coca-Cola cans from all over the world. As of 2013, Davide has 10,558 cans from 87 countries and holds a Guinness World Record.

2. McDonald’s Collection

Maybe McDonald’s is a food you can’t live without, but you would never know how Mike Fountaine loves McDonald’s. Mike Fountaine, an American, has 7,000 square feet of space to house his collections of more than 75,000 items, including paper cups, brooches, and Happy Meal’s toys.

3. Banana Stickers

Have you ever calculated the price of a banana sticker? However, banana stickers are priceless to Becky Martz of the United States. Becky Martz has collected more than 21,000 banana labels in more than 30 years. Curiosity led her to discover that Dole bananas from different regions had different labels, and she became interested in the design of banana labels.

She has travelled as far as Germany, Costa Rica, Ecuador and even attended banana brand collectors’ meetings around the world! Her first banana collection was Chiquita Banana’s label.

4. Water Bottle Labels

We throw away many mineral water bottles, and you’d never think there’s one person who loves to collect the bottle labels. He is Lorenzo Pescini from Italy. According to Guinness World Records, Lorenzo Pescini has been collecting labels since 1992, and by 2009, he had collected 8,650 labels of 1,683 mineral water brands from 185 countries.

5. Barbie Dolls

Bettina Dorfmann from Germany has collected more than 15,000 different Barbie dolls between 1993 and 2011. Bettina’s passion for Barbie has even led her to run a “dolls’ hospital”, which helps dolls repair limbs and untie their frayed hair.

6. Traffic Cone

David Morgan, from England, claims to have invented the traffic cone and his company produced most of the world’s supply. According to Guinness World Records, he has the world’s largest collection of traffic cones, numbering over 500.

7. Hot Sauce

Vic Clinco is a hot sauce lover. He has the largest collection of chili sauce in the world, numbering over 6,000 bottles, including Blair’s 16 Million Reserve, also known as the hottest chili sauce in the world. He also shows his love of chili sauce and shares his treasures on social media. Have you been following him?

8. Police Caps and Helmets

We’ve seen a lot of fashion cap collectors, but police hat collectors are really unheard of. Christian Duckett from England claims to have the most police hats or helmets after collecting more than 500 of different shapes and sizes from around the world over the past 20 years. He travelled 20,000 miles around the world for his beloved collection.

9. Erasers

Kids must be very excited to see this collection! We like to collect stationery during our childhood time. However, in Germany, crazy collector Petra Engels collected 19,571 different designs, shapes and sizes of erasers from 112 countries between 1981 and 2006. She was interested in seeing all kinds of rubber erasers in stationery stores since she was 9 years old. Her parents also brought her erasers from different places when they travelled for business trips.

10. Back Scratcher

Do you have a back scratcher in your home? Manfred S. Rothstein from United States, had 675 pieces from 71 countries in his home as of 2008.

11. Soap

Carol Vaughan from England collected 1,331 bars of soap between 1991 and 2009. She likes to find some special and unique soaps in the world.  She received the Guinness World Record, for her collection.

12. Dalmatian Paraphernalia

When it comes to dalmatians, we often think of the movie “101 Dalmatians”. Karen Ferrier from the US loves dalmatians more than you think! She collected more than 1,117 dalmatian-related items from 1991 to 2009, including a car and items belonging to Dodie Smith, the author of 101 Dalmatians.

13. Toothbrush

Grigori Fleicher, from Russia, holds the Guinness World Record for 1,320 toothbrushes as of 2008.

14. Signatures

Have you ever asked a celebrity to to sign your poster or book? Instead of collecting celebrity signatures, Paul Schmelzer collects the words “Paul Schmelzer” from the celebrities. So far, Paul Schmelzer has collected signatures from more than 75 celebrities, including politicians, artists, musicians and even Dan Castellaneta, who voiced the cartoon Homer Simpson.

15. Women’s Bras

A man collecting bras maybe considered a pervert. However, one man in Sanya, China, Chen Qingzu has amassed more than 5,000 bras and is even planning to start a bra museum. Actually, he is a health worker, his job is to promote health education to students. Every time he preached about bra and breast health education; he would ask students to donate their ill-fitting bras. He explained that his aim was to show the importance of choosing the right bra and to raise awareness of breast diseases.

16. Mobile Phones

Mobile phones change and improve with each passing day. Do you keep your old mobile phone? EKREM KARAGÜDEKOĞLU in Turkey liked to collect cell phones; he has old cellular phones, monochrome display phones, and current smart phones; his collection was at 2,779 cell phones as of 2021. His collection records the changes of the times, and showcases the progress of science and technology.

17. Joker Cards

Each pack of playing cards has a unique set of joker cards. The Italian magician Tony De Santis is the largest collector of joker cards in the world. He has more than 8,520 different joker cards, surpassing the late magician Fernando Riccardi’s record of 2,000.

18. Airsick Bags

Airsick bags can be a collection too! Collector Niek Vermeulen owns 6,290 bags, collected from some 1,191 airlines in 200 countries. We wonder what it was about airsick bags that fascinated him so much?

19. Nails

Retired grandfather Richard Jones, from Wales, has been crazy about nails for most of his life.  He has spent 50 years collecting 3,000 nails. No matter large and small, from all over the world.

20. “Do not Disturb” Door Signs

Hotels usually provide a “do not Disturb” sign so that guests can relax without room cleaning from coming in. However, one man found treasure in these signs! Jean-francois Vernetti, from Switzerland, has visited hotels around the world and collected more than 11,000 “Do not Disturb” signs.
