5 Things you need to do during Ramadan to ensure a great Raya.

5 Things you need to do during Ramadan to ensure a great Raya.

How to make Raya this year hassle-free and awesome.

In less than month’s time, Muslims all around the world will be celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, or as we call it here in Malaysia, Hari Raya. Here are five things you need to do during Ramadan to avoid last-minute hassle during Raya.

1. Plan for your travel home early.

Hari Raya is one of the busiest times of the year. So, if you’re using public transportation to balik kampung this year or taking a flight, you need to arrange it now. When packing, create a checklist of items you need to bring back home for your family and relatives so that you don’t forget anything. Let’s balik kampung with a peace of mind this year! And don’t forget your baju raya.

2. Shop Smartly.

With Raya SALES everywhere it is tempting to get things you don’t really need. Here’s our tip on how to shop smartly this Raya: Make a list of things you need, and then window shop before shopping. Window shop online before you go to the store will narrow down your choices, and also saves your time and energy when you do the shopping because you would already know what you need to get before going to the store.

3. Prepare Duit Raya

When you create a budget to get things for Raya, don’t forget to include duit Raya. This shouldn’t be the last thing you want to do. So, once you have a budget for duit raya, prepare them as soon as you can to avoid spending them.

4. Get all your work done NOW.

You should be enjoying Raya to the fullest with your family and friends. So, be clear about the number of off-days you’re allowed to take, and then plan and manage your workload accordingly. This way, even when you’re not around nobody would bother your quality time with your Mom’s rendang and ketupat.

5. Get your house ready for Rumah Terbuka.

If you’re hosting a rumah terbuka on one of the weekends in June, it is wise to start getting your house ready during this Ramadan because once Raya begins, you will be in your kampung, or always occupied with your family, relatives and friends. The main goal in getting your house ready for rumah terbuka is to create a spacious space for all your guests. So, you will need to declutter and store your non-essentials at a self storage facility. And no worries, we’ve got your back!
